Luxury Car Disaster! $53 Million in Cars Destroyed in Ship Wreck!
Some can consider this the accident with the biggest number of damaged cars on one spot. Then again none of those cars were moving on their own power oh and there is also the case of this being a deliberate grounding of the vessel. The Hoegh Osaka developed a severe list soon after leaving the Port of Southampton and after a while the captain decided that the safest course of action is to deliberately run it aground off the Isle of Wight. The vessel contained 1,400 vehicles and not cheap ones to. Amongst the Minis and Land Rovers there are a number of Jaguars and even Rolls Royce Wraiths. They did not show the extent of the damage to the vehicles but since the ship is sitting at an uncomfortable 53 degrees we are pretty sure not all of them survived unscaved.
