CRASH TESTS 2016 PICKUP TRUCK – F-150, SILVERADO, TUNDRA, RAM

Trucks are considered to be one of the safer options if you get involved in an accident since the driver and passengers are sitting higher up than regular cars and the sheer mass behind the vehicle will most likely keep you safer than the guy in the sedan that is on the other end of the car crash “stick”.
One of the worst possible scenarios for any vehicle is the so-called “small overlap front crash tests”. This gets even the toughest trucks out there to buckle under the impact that is conducted with 25 percent of the vehicle’s front end, (driver side) hitting a 5-foot-tall rigid barrier at 40 mph. Since the barrier does not collapse like other cars, the impact sounds like a bomb going off and the Ford F-150 SuperCab is the only one to walk away from the crash with a “Good” rating, all the rest receive an “Acceptable” or “Marginal” rating due to the fact that the entire kinetic energy from the impact is supposed to be absorbed by only 25% of the front of the entire vehicle.
